Sumitomo Chemical Europe – harmony between existing and new

Sumitomo Chemical Europe is part of a global Japanese concern that contributes to a better quality of life with innovative chemical solutions. They wanted more than just an office for their new location on the fifth floor of Park 7. It needed to be an inspiring place where people feel good, ideas flow, and collaboration is natural.

From vision to reality
Wendy Lebegge, Facility Manager at Sumitomo Chemical Europe, explains, “We wanted an environment where our people immediately feel at home and that truly suits our corporate culture. CAPTIF Office Architects designed the concept and we turned to Pami for the furniture. Pami understood our vision immediately and worked very efficiently. The fact they are a Belgian company was an added advantage: short chain, personal contact, and an approach that really works.”

Sustainability centre stage
A key challenge within this project was reusing existing furniture. For Sumitomo Chemical Europe, sustainability is an essential part of their identity.

“We absolutely wanted to avoid losing good furniture. Pami helped us to find a good balance: a mix of old and new furniture, beautifully matching our Japanese corporate culture as well as the new interior concept.”

The result?
The end result is a modern, warm, and functional office environment where employees feel at home and enjoy working together. The combination of existing and new furniture not only creates an aesthetic finish, it also reflects Sumitomo Chemical Europe’s values: respect for people, the environment, and the future.

With their new site at Park 7, Sumitomo Chemical Europe is looking confidently to the future. “Our new office provides an inspiring environment for collaboration and innovation. We look forward to welcoming our employees, partners, and customers here in this new chapter.”
